What is The Sipping Plant?

The Sipping Plant is a place to spend some quality time with people you care about being creative and having fun!

We host BYOB arts and crafts classes - specifically succulent terrarium-making and string art classes - for anyone looking to have fun, make memories, and sip on a few drinks! No prior experience or knowledge of succulents, terrariums, crafting, or string art is required to join the fun!

We've got a lot going on here at The Sipping Plant that we know you'll love, but the thing we're most excited about is that we leave the creative freedom completely in your hands! You make all of the artistic decisions, and you determine what the final product looks like! We're here to guide you through the basic steps, and we're here to help you achieve your vision - but it's 100% going to be YOUR vision! You'll leave The Sipping Plant with a creation that you love and are excited to show off!

The Sipping Plant does not provide or sell refreshments of any kind, but we encourage you to bring your own! Crafts are more fun with something to sip on! Don't forget to bring cups, bottle openers, plates, napkins and silverware if you need it!

How does the class work? What should I expect?

Guests should arrive 15 minutes prior to the event start time to get checked in, select a container or string art design, and get seated. Once everyone is seated, we like to kick things off with a toast! After that, each craft class will be taught step-by-step to the entire group using a microphone and speaker system. Each time we explain a step of the process to the class, our instructors will walk around and offer more individualized instruction to any participants who need it.

How long do the classes last?

The Planter's Choice Terrarium class is scheduled to last 2 hours, but it can go more quickly when there are fewer people in the class.

The String Art class is also scheduled to take 2 hours, but the craft can sometimes take longer than that to complete. The length of time your craft takes will depend on the difficulty of the stencil you select and the speed at which you work. If any guests do not finish their string art during the 2 hour class time, we will send string home so they can complete the craft at their leisure!

Do I have to be 21 to attend? Are there age restrictions?

For events at Sipping Plant locations:

  • Guests under 21 are welcome to attend and participate! We reserve the right to ask to see state-issued identification for any and all guests consuming beverages in our locations.
  • Planter's Choice Terrarium events are open to all ages.
  • String Art events are 13+ due to the dexterity and patience required to complete the craft.
  • A parent or guardian must accompany any guests under 16 years old at all times.

For events at other locations:

  • The Sipping Plant must abide by the age requirements of the establishment where the event is held. Please check the event description on the booking page for more information about these specific events out in the community!

What are the rules for BYOB at our studio?

We are fully licensed to allow BYOB during the craft classes at our studio in Sandy Springs. Each guest over the age of 21 can bring in wine or beer. We cannot allow in hard liquor of any kind. We will ask to see the government-issued ID card of all guests attending our craft classes during check-in, so be sure to bring your ID with you!

We can also allow in non-alcoholic drinks and snacks if you would like to have them during the event. We cannot provide any cups, plates, silverware, napkins, bottle openers, etc., so be sure to bring whatever you'll need along with you!

How do I use my voucher/gift voucher/promo code? Can I combine vouchers, gift cards, and/or promo codes on one booking?

You can apply vouchers or promotional codes to your booking by clicking the "Enter code" button on the payment page during the booking process.

You'll then need to enter the Redemption Code, promotion code, or gift voucher code into the pop-up window that appears after clicking the "Enter code" button. Then, click "OK" to apply the voucher or code.

You can use one type of voucher or promo code per booking. Different types of vouchers cannot be combined on the same booking, and promotion codes cannot be used alongside vouchers of any kind.

What if I'm not "crafty" or don't have a "green thumb?"

No worries! No experience is required! Our Instructors will give you detailed instructions on how to make your own unique terrarium or string art masterpiece every step of the way! By the time you leave you'll be a sucker for succulents or a string art master - and you'll probably be ready to come back to try our other craft class!

If you're a known plant killer, we won't tell the plants if you don't! We're going to give you all of our tips and tricks for success - and we've got TONS of them! Caring for succulents doesn't have to succ - we promise!

And if you forget everything we say in class? It's all right here on the Plant Care page of our website!

Do I need to bring or wear anything special?

We have all the materials, instructions, and equipment needed to complete your craft. All you need to bring is your smile, your refreshments and utensils, your state-issued ID, and your friends and family!

We have aprons available to protect your clothing, but if you join us for a terrarium-making class, you will be quite literally "digging into fun" with live plants, soil, and moss. Please keep that in mind when choosing your outfit for your fun night out!

You can also check out our Facebook and Instagram pages to see what others wore!

What if I can't attend my event? What are the cancellation and rescheduling policies?

We understand things come up, and we'll try our best to accommodate you.

Rescheduling policy: If you contact us at least 24 hours prior to your event, we will be happy to help you reschedule your reservation free of charge! If you contact us to reschedule with less than 24 hours until your event start time, there is a rescheduling fee equal to 25% of the total booking cost due to inability to resell the seats on such short notice. If you need to reschedule due to an emergency please call or email us as soon as possible, and we'll do our best to find a solution for you.

No-Show policy: If you do not contact us prior to missing an event, we consider that a no-show, and we cannot reschedule you to another time due to our inability to resell the seats that we had saved for your booking.

Cancellation policy: If you cannot attend your event and don't want to reschedule, we do not offer refunds for any reason; however, you can give your ticket to someone else. You will need to send an email from the email account you created your booking with to info@sippingplant.com listing the name of the person who will be using your ticket, and then they can check in with their ID and your name at least 15 min prior to the event start time.

What if I'm late?

If you're running behind, you could miss valuable instructions and interrupt your fellow crafters. We ask that all participants arrive 15 minutes prior to the event's start time so everyone can get seated and get started on time. If you happen to be running late, we will not wait on you to start the class, but we will catch you up quickly as soon as you arrive!

We reserve the right to refuse to accommodate you should you arrive so late that there is no longer a reasonable amount of time to complete the craft during the class time. This determination is up to the sole discretion of our instructors.

Can I refund my purchase?

We are not able to refund any purchases made during the reservation process or during your event at The Sipping Plant. If you purchased a voucher from a promotion site please contact the promotion site you purchased from for a refund request.

If you cannot attend your event, you can reschedule your event by calling or emailing us prior to the event. You may reschedule your event as many times as needed. Rescheduling is free of charge with more than a 24-hours notice until the start of your event. If you need to reschedule with less than 24-hours notice, a late rescheduling fee equal to 25% of the total booking cost will be applied to your booking.

If you no longer wish to attend your event, you can transfer your ticket to someone else or you can put your booking on hold in our system to use at a later date. To change your booking into someone else's name, just email us at info@sippingplant.com with your booking info and the name of the person who will be using your ticket. The email must come from the same email account used to create your booking. The person you transfer the ticket to will need to check in 15 minutes prior to the start of the event with their ID. They will also be required to provide their own method of payment if they purchase any extra materials during class.
